DEFINITION

Classification: 141/44

(under subclass 37) Apparatus in which gas and other material are flowing together, usually as a result of overflow from a filled receiver, and a passage or chamber is provided in which the gas is separated from the other material.

(1) Note. A mere enlargement of a vent passage, whether for overfill material or not, is not included. Other features characteristic of diverse fluid systems must be present, as filters, gas separating baffles, pressure equalizing means or pumps, separate outlets for gas and liquid, etc.
