FIXED KNIFE SHAVER:

(under the class definition) Machine for producing a smooth surface on wood, cane, or rattan and at the same time gaging the thickness of the dressed piece by forcing the material under a fixed knife.

(1) Note. Somewhat similar machines may be found in this class, subclass 120, in which subclass is classified a machine otherwise resembling a shaving-machine, but having several plane bits mounted in blocks in order to remove the surface material by several successive shallow cuts.
