DEFINITION

Classification: 157/1.21

(under subclass 1.2) Devices which include means for applying pressure on the periphery of the tire, the pressure being directed toward the axis of rotation to cause the bead or beads to move axially.

(1) Note. Usually, the tire is of the "tubeless" type and is associated with the rim of a wheel when the pressure is exerted to thereby cause the beads to engage the rim to facilitate inflating the tire with pressure fluid.
