DEFINITION

Classification: 16/108

(under the class definition) Devices comprising annular protective bands, caps, or collars to be applied to the exterior of rods, pipes, conduits, strands or other devices to reinforce the same and/or to prevent abrasion of elements passing therethrough into an opening in the rod, pipe, conduit, etc.

(1) Note. These devices have various means for fastening them to the device to which they are applied.

(2) Note. So much of the device to which they are applied may be claimed as is necessary to the definition of the ferrule, ring or thimble or its fastening means.
