DEFINITION

Classification: 164/371

(under subclass 271) Apparatus directed to a, per se, member which forms a part of the mold shaping surface and which has a heat conductivity much greater than that of the remaining parts of the mold.

(1) Note. A chill for this subclass must be disclosed for use in a sand-type shaping surface and must aid in the actual shaping of the cast material.

(2) Note. The chills found herein generally comprise a formed metal shaping surface.
