DEFINITION

Classification: 19/55

A bank of circular saws slightly spaced apart is caused to rotate with each saw projecting through a slit in a plate or rib bank and engaging the seed fiber. The fibers cling to the saw teeth as the teeth pass back through the slits between the ribs and are detached, the slits being so narrow that the seeds cannot follow.
