DEFINITION

Classification: 204/565

Using modified alternating current (other than standard 50 Hz

or 60 Hz sine wave) field:

(under subclass 564) Process in which the emulsion or dispersion is resolved using an electric field produced by a modified alternating current with a frequency or wave form other than that of standard 50 Hz or 60 Hz sine wave alternating current (e.g., other than standard pure or simple alternating current, etc.).

(1) Note. A modified alternating current field is often used to reduce short circuiting by inhibiting the alignment of conducting constituents in the emulsion or dispersion between opposing electrodes.
