(1) Note. Although the shiftable means of this and the indented subclass may be partially confined or act through an intermediate structure to grip a core of wound material, it should be capable of substantial expansion (e.g., a tube, ring, or sack) as opposed to a flexible gasket disposed around a piston movable in a rigid cylinder.
