DEFINITION

Classification: 266/239

(under subclass 236) Device wherein the means for discharging material from the treating vessel includes means for varying gas pressure at a selected location on the exterior of the molten mass to create a gas pressure gradient across the exterior which is effective to deliver material from the vessel.

(1) Note. The means to vary the gas pressure on a portion of a liquid surface includes both devices that raise the gas pressure, e.g., pressurized gas cylinders, and that lower the gas pressure, e.g., vacuum pumps.
