DEFINITION

Classification: 269/258

(under subclass 257) Device including means to permit movement of a jaw* or portion thereof to orientate a contacting surface with respect to the work.

(1) Note. The means to permit movement of a jaw is other than one including a mechanical advantage. Thus, "means to permit movement" includes a pivot, swivel or slide.

(2) Note. In the illustration below the jaw element 1 is freely pivoted so as to be "self-aligning" with the work contacted. [figure]
