STEREOTYPE-PLATE FINISHING:

(under the class definition) Process or apparatus for finishing a plane or curved stereotype plate by beveling the edge, grooving, or finishing a rib on the back of a plate.

(1) Note. Apparatus for casting a stereotype plate combined with a finishing mechanism which operates on a plate while still associated with a casting surface is classified in Class 164, Metal Founding, subclass 140.

(2) Note. Apparatus for merely planing the back of a stereotype plate are classified in Class 409, Gear Cutting, Milling, or Planing, subclasses 288+.
