421.2  DF  .~.~> Explosively shaping

DEFINITION

Classification: 29/421.1

Shaping by direct application of fluent pressure:

(under subclass 592) Process including permanently altering the dimensions of a part beyond its elastic limit by means of a pressure differential effected by direct action of a flowable material which is in immediate contact with the part altered.

(1) Note. Permanently altering the dimensions of a part requires stressing the part beyond its elastic limit thereby causing plastic deformation.
