200  DF  MAGNETIC {24}
201.~ Susceptibility

DEFINITION

Classification: 324/201

Susceptibility:

(under subclass 200) Subject matter wherein the apparatus to sense and indicate the sensing of a magnetic field is responsive to a magnetic field modified by material which has magnetic properties, the indication of the sensing being directly or indirectly representative of the ease with which the material can be magnetized.

(1) Note. The ratio of the intensity of magnetization of the material to the magnetic intensity of the field causing the magnetization of the material is known as susceptibility.

228, for apparatus to test materials which require a magnetic test field including torque magnetometers.
