DEFINITION

Classification: 338/148

(under subclass 143) Subject matter wherein a threaded shaft or screw having a contactor linked therewith is so located in relation to the helical resistor element that rotation of the

threaded shaft causes linear travel of the contact as the contact is rotated along the turns of the helical wound resistance element.

(1) Note. The helical screw is structure separate from and in addition to the helical resistance element, although the screw may be a track parallel to the helical element. Where the contactor is moved linearly by engagement with the helical turns of the resistance element, classification is in the generic subclass 143 above.
