DEFINITION

Classification: 346/60

(under subclass 59) Recorders of the type wherein a further recording is made of the characters from a register. The register may step up in response to signals from a watchman's or other transmitter to identify the particular transmitter, or in response to the increase in a magnitude. A pointer which oscillates back and forth in accordance with a variation in magnitude is not a register.
