DEFINITION

Classification: 360/22

(under the class definition) Subject matter wherein a single information signal is divided and recorded on plural distinct tracks or reproduced from such tracks and recombined into a single signal.

(1) Note. Transverse track portions such as that produced by moving a head at an angle to the direction of movement of a tape are not considered distinct tracks within the meaning of the above definition.
