(under subclass 408) Subject matter wherein significance is attributed to the key* elements or the key-lever bars or to structure that support the key elements of a bottom-strike typewriter.

(1) Note. The term "key lever" is defined in the definition of subclass 472 below.

(2) Note. Included in this subclass is key-lever structure for moving an intermediate horizontal linkage transverse to the key levers and type-bar* members, structure including a vertically movable key lever, and a key that moves a horizontally movable draw bar or link instead of a key lever.
