(under subclass 671.2) Subject matter wherein the preventing means includes an element that is movable into either of two positions, in a first position the element is between a fixed portion of a typewriter and the universal-bar* or a member affixed to and movable with the universal-bar, and in a second position the element is not between the portion and the universal-bar, whereby when the element is in the first position the universal-bar is prevented from moving its full movement in a direction to actuate the function* that would be actuated if the element were in its second position.
