DEFINITION

Classification: 401/72

(under subclass 68) Implement wherein the camming surface is adapted to engage directly with a surface portion(s) of the piece, which portion(s) serve(s) as the cam element.

(1) Note. The camming surface may be adapted to remove portions from, or mold, the piece of solid coating material along its longitudinal axis, whereby a part of the coating material becomes the cam element. For example, the camming member may function as a thread cutting nut which imparts threads to a stick of lead. The coating material is generally of noncircular cross section so that it may be engaged for rotation relative to the camming member.
