DEFINITION

Classification: 439/772

Clamping lever, cam, or wedge:

(under subclass 754) Electrical connector wherein the clamping pressure exerted on the battery post is caused by the action of (a) a clamping arm swinging about an axis, (b) the turning motion of a clamping member of gradually increasing radius, (c) the turning motion of an eccentrically mounted clamping member, (d) the straight-line motion of a clamping member having diverging opposed surfaces, or (e) the motion of a clamping member relative to a curved or inclined surface; which movable clamping arm or member exerts a clamping pressure on the battery post between the said movable clamping member and an abutting surface of the clamp connector.

SEE OR SEARCH THIS CLASS, SUBCLASS:

863+, for another connector in which the motion of a clamping cam or wedge exerts a clamping pressure on a conductor to be secured thereto.
