DEFINITION

Classification: 439/823

Socket or pin connector having small radially biased clamping or detenting element:

(under subclass 819) Electrical connector either comprising a male connector adapted to be pushed linearly along its longitudinal axis into the elongated hollow interior of a mating female connector, or comprising the said female connector; and wherein the spring member carried by the male or female connector resiliently urges a rigid clamping or retaining part radially of the longitudinal axis of the connector, so as to either exert a radial clamping pressure on the lateral surface of the mating connector or to resiliently snap-latch into a shouldered recess located in the lateral surface of the mating connector.
