DEFINITION

Classification: 376/179

Coolant manipulated and used exterior of reactor core:

(under subclass 171) Subject matter wherein the coolant circulating within the reactor core area has energy (e.g., thermal or kinetic) added to or removed therefrom (e.g., by a heat exchanger, pump, or turbine) exterior of the reactor core.

(1) Note. The "energy" may be transferred by heat exchange to a secondary fluid, etc., which is then utilized in a turbine.
